week 5 monday

Monday:   Deborah was leading Isreal. The Isrealites were about to attack, but Deborah went with them.Ten thousand men were following one leader and Deborah. The Isrealites destroyed them, and not a single one was left, but their leader, Sisera, fled on foot.  He entered the tent of Jael and went to sleep. While Sisera was fast asleep, Jael got a hammer and a peg. She went over to where he lay and drove the peg right through his temple and into the hard ground.  When Deborah found Jael's tent, Jael showed her the dead man's body.

week 6 friday

Friday:

   Naomi told Ruth to go and pick up left over grain. Ruth did so and went to the field of Boaz, a close relative of  Naomi's husband. When Boaz asked who she  was, the foreman told him that she was the daughter-in-law of Naomi. Boaz allowed her to pick the grain off of the ground and gave his servants strict orders not to touch Ruth. Boaz let Ruth eat her fill and rest. When Ruth told Naomi of Boaz's kindness, Naomi blessed Boaz. Reputations are very important and they tell what kind of person you are. You should have a good reputation to your own advantage.

week 6 thursday

Thursday:  

  Naomi, her husband, and her two sons moved to the country of Moab. There was a plague on the land and her husband died. Naomi's sons got married,but both men died. Naomi decided to go back to her old home in Isreal, and wished her two daughters-in-law good bye. Orpah kissed her good bye, but Ruth clung to her. Naomi erged her to go on, but Ruth stayed with her. Finally, Naomi gave up and let her come with her. Ruth gave up her whole family and way of life to be with Naomi. That is friendship.

week 6 wednesday

Wednesday:   The Philistines were watching Samson as he entertained them. By then, Samson's hair had grown back. Samson layed both of his hands on a pillar and prayed to God. He prayed that God would give him his strength back one last time. The Lord heared his prayers and answered them. Samson used all the strength that he could muster. Then the pillars gave way and the whole building tumbled to the ground and killed all of the people within it. Samson killed more people that day than he did in his entire life. God was willing to give Samson all his strength back even though he misused it before. God is definately a very patient God.

week 6 tuesday

Tuesday:  Samson fell in love with a girl named Delilah.  He married her. Delilah was confronted by Philistine rulers who asked her to find out the secret to Samsons strength and offered her 1100 shekels of silver per ruler. Delilah asked Samson what was the secret to his strength.  Samson lied and told her that if anyone ties him with 7 fresh thongs that have not been dried, he will be as weak as any other man.  The rulers of the Philistines brought 7 fresh thongs and she tied Samson with them.  When she called out to him while he was sleeping, he broke through the thongs.  She was horrified that he had lied and demanded to know the true secret.  Samson lied 2 more times and finally broke down and told her the real secret.  Delilah put him to sleep and shaved his head.  When the rulers attacked Samson, he lost all of his strength.  They binded him with bronze shackels and poked his eyes out.  Afterwards, they threw him into prison.  One day, after his hair had grown back, he was put in a temple full of people to entertain.  Samson asked the Lord for his strength back and pushed the pillars of the temple down.  He killed more people that day than his entire life.

week 6 monday

Monday:  Samson wanted his bride back, but did not get her. Samson decided that he should get even and burned their wheat crops. The people asked who did this and were told that it was the Timnites son in-law. They burned the man and his daughter to death. This enraged Samson. He went and killed many men. Samson went and hid in a cave. The people of Judah found him and boundes him in ropes. Then the lord weakened the ropes and freed Samson. Samson grabbed a donkey's jawbone and killed 1 thousand men. God has to help us to do anything.Without Him, we are nothing.

week 7 friday

Friday:  Samuel grew old and appointed his sons as judges of Isreal. The sons of Samuel did not walk in his ways. They asked Samuel if he would appoint a king instead of his sons. The people of Isreal knew that Samuels sons were greedy and unlike Samuel. We are all tempted to be greedy or unfair. If we ever want to change, we should call to the Lord and ask for forgiveness and earn our salvation. God can forgive you.

week 7 thursday

Thursday : Samuel was lying down in his usual spot and heard some one calling his name. Samuel got up and went to Eli and asked him if he had called him. Eli denied having done this and told Samuel to go back to bed. Samuel did as he was told and went to bed. Once again, Samuel heard his name being called again and went to Eli. Once again, Eli denied and told Samuel to go to bed. Samuel did as he was told and went to bed. Samuel heard his name again and went to Eli. Eli then realized that God was calling Samuel and told him how to talk to the Lord. Samuel did as he was told and recieved a message from the Lord. 

Week 7 wednesday

Wednesday:   A woman named Hannah could not have children, so she asked the Lord for a son. She vowed that she would give her son to the Lord for all of his life. The Lord heard her grieving and gave her a son. She named her son Samuel. When we become christians, we devote our lives to serving the Lord. Hannah made a promise to give up her only son to the Lord, and she kept her word. If you do not keep your word, the Lord will hold you to it.

Week 7 tuesday

Tuesday : Boaz asked the other family redeemer if he would take Ruth to be his wife. The other family redeemer refused. Boaz married Ruth and they had a son. Their son's name was Obed. Obed was the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David.God provided Ruth a husband and a son, along with a future generation.

Week 7

Monday : Naomi told Ruth to lay at Boaz's feet, for she needed a provider. Ruth followed Naomi's instructions and went to Boaz's house. Boaz saw her and told her he would do it , but first he would check if the other family redeemer would redeem her first. Naomi was sure that he would get the results today. God provided her a husband.
