Week 7 Wed. Esther 2:1-23 A Strange Way to Become Queen

    Esther had been raised by her cousin, Mordecai, after her parents died and was like a daughter to him. Esther was chosen as the new queen of King Xerxes, who was extremely attracted to Esther. One day, Mordecai found out that two of the king's subjects planned on killing him and told Esther about it. When Esther told the king, she gave Mordecai the credit and the two men were hung. When all the big stuff happens, like a death or illness in the family, it gets you ready for the little stuff. God knows what you can endure and will not do more than need be.

Week 7 Tues. Esther 1:1-22 The Fall of a Queen

    King Xerxes gave a wonderful banquet to show off his wealth. When he called for the queen, she would not come. The king was furious. He ordered that she never be in his presence again, for she had disobeyed the king and her husband. The queen would not listen to her husband. She took it for granted that her husband was king, which made her queen. When you take all the important people in your life for granted, you will be devastated that when they are gone, you did not spent those extra minutes with them. Enjoying the moments you have with those special people will always be with you, even when they are not.

Week 7 Monday Nehemiah 8:1-18 Reading God’s Word

   Ezra was teaching the Book of Law to the people of Israel. The people understood and obeyed Ezra and did all of this for seven days. On the eighth day, they had an assembly. When I open God's Word, I know that something great is about to happen. God's word is very powerful and will always touch a life in one way or another. Every time I open the Bible, I am touched deeply.

Week 6 Friday-Nehemiah 5:1-19 Nehemiah’s Concern for the Poor

   Nehemiah saw that the poor needed help and was very angry. He told the nobles that what they did was very wrong. They stayed quiet though. The richer people finally agreed and gave the poor more of their food. The poor people rejoiced and were very thankful. I help the poor by giving money to charities and other such things.

Week 6 Thursday-Nehemiah 2:1-20 Nehemiah Returns to Jerusalem

    Nehemiah asked the king if he could travel to Jerusalem. The king agreed and Nehemiah set off on his journey. He wanted to start rebuilding the city of Jerusalem. When he gets there, he starts rebuilding quickly. I could start helping my mom and rebuild our relationship to be even stronger than it was before.

Week 6 Wednesday-Ezra 3:7-13 Rebuilding the Temple

   The people of Israel were building a new temple for the Lord. They built it carefully and wisely. Then they sang praises to the Lord. The people wept and shouted with joy. When I am working on a project, I am so relieved to finally finish.

Week 6 Tuesday-2 Kings 22:1- 23:3 Discovery of the Lost Book

     One of the kings servants went up to a temple to burn some offerings. A priest gave the servant of the king the Book of Law. When the servant returned, he read the Book of Law to the king. They went to ask a prophetess what it means and she told them that disaster would fall upon them and the land because they burned offerings to false gods. Then they told the king.

Week 6 Monday-2 Kings 11:1-21 The King Who Was A Kid

   When the king died, Athalia tried to destroy the whole royal family so that she could reign over Israel. One of the king's sons, Joash, was saved and hidden for six years. Then, the people set up the temple and made Joash king. Athalia was put to death, but not in the temple of the Lord. Joash became king at the age of seven. God is always the perfect, but other than that, my parents definately set a good example.

Week 5 Friday-2 Kings 5: 1-27 The Healing of Naaman

   Naaman had leprosy and went to Elisha for help. Elisha told him to bath in the Jordan River seven times. When Naaman did, his leprousy was cured. When Naaman offered Elisha some nice things, Elisha refused and Naaman went home. One of Elisha's servants went and took the nice things and was cursed with leprousy. One time, I had an urge to talk to some one, but didn't. It probably would have been life changing.

Week 5 Thursday-2 Kings 2: 13-25 Elisha’s Miracles

   The spirit of Elijah fell upon Elisha after Elijah went up to Heaven in a chariot of fire. Elisha found a place where the water was bad. He got a bowl and placed salt in it. Then he through the salt into the spring and the water has been healthy ever since. If you have a respect for God, you probably honor and obey him accordding to the word of God.

Week 5 Wednesday-2 Kings 2: 1-12 Elijah’s Chariot

   The new king got an injury and wanted to know if he would recover. He sent messengers to speak to one of their false gods. Elijah met them on the way and told them to go back home, for their master will surely die. They went and told their master, who was very upset. When I make a commitment, I need to stick to it, for I gave my word.

Week 5 Tuesday-1 Kings 22: 29-40 The Death of King Ahab

   Ahab went to battle in diguise with all his chariots. When someone fired an arrow, it got him right between his plates of armor. He stayed in the chariot the rest of the day and then died. Then the dogs licked up his blood. When I know that I did something wrong, I wish that God did not know.

Week 5 Monday-1 Kings 21: 1-29 The Stolen Vineyard

   Ahab wanted a vineyard, but the owner would not sell it. He was angry and his wife had him stoned to death. When Elijah heard about this, he told Ahab that a disaster would be brought upon him. Ahab humbled himself and God did not bring the disaster upon him. Justice is important, but all you really need is God.

Week 4 Friday-1 Kings 19: 1-21 Spiritual Burnout

   Ahab told Jezebel what happened. She went after Elijah and he fled to Horeb. Elijah did not want to live an longer and laid under a tree. An angel came to him and fed him fresh food and water. He also went out on the mountain in the presence of the Lord. I feel sorry for myself when my life turns upside down. I know Ican can always count on God.

Week 4 Thursday- Kings 18: 16-46 Elijah Versus the Priests of Baal

   Elijah called down God's power and fire came down. Baal did nothing. The sacrifice from the the Lord was burned up instantly. The people proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When God does something amazing (wich is basically anything He does) I always find it astounding.

Week 4 Wednesday-1 Kings 17: 1-24 God Takes Care of Elijah

   The Lord told Elijah to go to the Kerith Ravine and he did. The Lord commanded the Ravens to go and feed Elijah and they did. He also drank from the brook.  A widow needed Elijahs's help, for her son was dieing. Elijah went to see them. When the boy died, Elijah prayed over him and the boy lived. If you do not trust the Lord, how can you obey him?

Week 4 Tuesday-1 Kings 12: 1-24 Solomon’s Unwise Son

   After King Solomon died, Rehoboam was annointed king of Israel. Rehoboam was not a good king. He was very unwise. Rehoboam he took the wrong advice and Israel did not like him. They rebelled against him and stoned some of his followers to death. I know that my parents always give good advice. I alo know that God knows everything and will tell me anything I need to know.

Week 4 Monday-1 Kings 10: 1-13 Solomon and the Queen of Sheba

   The Queen of Sheba heard about Solomon's fame and decided to see for herself. She brought a caravan with her. At first she did not believe it, but then she saw all his things and was overwhelmed. She then gave him 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Solomon gave her whatever she wanted. When I have something that someone else does not, it is tempting to impress them with it.

Week 3 Friday-1 Kings 6: 1-38 Solomon Builds the Temple

   Solomon started to build a temple for the Lord. No iron tool was used in the temple. Nor was there any stone part in the building. He overlaid the inside of the sanctuary with pure gold. There were flowers and gardens in the temple too. Solomon finished the temple in seven years. olomon put his mind to it and got the work done.

Week 3 Thursday-1 Kings 3: 16-28 Solomon Solves a Problem

   Two women went to Solomon, both claiming that, out of the two babies, the living one was theirs and the dead one belonged to the other. Solomon decided that he would cut the baby in two. The first woman said to just give the baby to the other so it may live. The second woman said to cut it in two. Solomon decided to give the baby to the first woman, for she was her real mother. The people then knew that King Solomon was wise. It is personal, but God's wisdom is indeed needed.

Week 3 Wednesday-1 Kings 3: 1-15 Solomon’s Wisdom

   Solomon made an alliance with Egypt and married the Pharoah's daughter. He went and finished building his temple. While there, he had a dream and God asked him what he wanted Him to give him. Solomon asked for wisdom;therfore, God gave it to him. The Lord also gave him great honors and riches. If I could ask for anything, I would want to ask for a very close relationship with the Lord and to be able to sit at his feet in Heaven.

Week 3 Tuesday-1 Kings 1: 28-53 David Gives Solomon the Crown

   King David took and oath that his son, Solomon, would become king. They put Solomon on David's mule and annointed him king. When Adonijah heard this, he clung to the horns of the alter. Solomon was not going to kill Adonijah. Instead of killing Adonijah, Solomon sent Adonijah home. God is always in control. You know so by faith.

Week 3 Monday-1 Kings 1: 5-27 Conflict Over the Throne

   Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith, started to set himself up as king when David got older. He then got a chariot and fifty men to run ahead of him. Joab and a priest supported him. Adonjijah then sacrificed animals and prepared a feast, but not for those who did not support him. Nathan went to Bathsheba and told her his plan. She went to David and told him that he promised that Solomon would be king. When you don't make good decisions, you will get punished.

Week 2 Friday-2 Samuel 18: 1-18

     David gathered all of his men and made an army to invade Israel. David said, "Protect the young man Absalom, for my sake." Absalom was riding on his mule when he got stuck in an oak tree. Joab found him and killed him. Joab and his men buried Joab under many stones. You can lose control when your flesh controls you.

Week 2 Thursday-2 Samuel 15: 1-37

   Absalom wanted to be judge of the land. When people came for justice but did not get it, he kissed them and told them if he were the judge, he would treat them right. He then stole the hearts of the people of Israel. Then he went to Hebron and told the people to shout that he was king of Hebron. His followers kept on increasing and he was gaining strength in numbers. David fled so that Absalom would not harm him. God will help you on your journeys. After all, he planned them.    :)

Week 2 Wednesday- 2 Samuel 14: 1-33

   Joab sent a wise woman to David. She dressed as a mourner and went to David and begged him to not let any one hurt her son, for he did something wrong. David agreed and found out that Joab was behind this and would not see Absalom. Absalom was then then praised for his handsome appearance. When Joab would not listen to him and he set Joab's field on fire. You should deal with family conflict calmly.

 

Week 2 Tuesday-2 Sam. 12: 13-25

   Nathan then left David alone. After that, David's son was struck down by ab illness. David prayed to God and repented before Him. David fasted and just stayed curled up on the ground. After ten days, his son died. David's servants did not want to tell him about it. David heard them mumbling and was suspicious. When he asked if his son was dead, they told him yes. David had not been doing what God told him. He felt guilty, which was good, and helped him to get back on the path of righteousness.

Week 2 Monday-2 Samuel 12: 1-12

   The Lord sent Nathan to David. Nathan told David of a rich man and a poor man. The rich man had a very large amount of sheep and cattle, but the poor man only had one ewe, which was like a daughter to him. One day, a traveler came by the rich man's house. The rich man did not use one of his own sheep, but instead took the one sheep of the poor man and cooked it for his guest. David was angry and said that that rich man should be killed for what he has done. Nathan then revealed that the rich man was in fact David. David was devastated and repented to the Lord for what he did.

week 1 friday

   King David saw a woman that he thought was very beautiful. He sent some messengers to find out about her. Her name was Bathsheba and she was married to Uriah. David called for Bathsheba and slept with her. David later found out that Bathsheba was pregnant and called for her husband, Uriah. Uriah slept in the front of the palace. David told Uriah's master, Joab, to put Uriah in the front of the army. Uriah was then killed and his wife mourned for a long time. David then married Bathsheba and God was very upset with him. Some times it is hard to admit that you did something wrong. It can get bottled up inside and will always be on your conscience. :(

week1 thursday

   David asked Saul's servant, Ziba, if Saul had any other relatives. Saul, in fact, had a grand son named Mephibosheth. He was crippled in both feet. David went to his house and Mephibosheth bowed before him. He was offered a place at King David's table. Mephibosheth had a son named Mica. All promises should be kept. If you give your word, you need to stick to and do the right thing.

Week 1 Wednesday

    They have anointed David king over all of Isreal. David was then thirty years old. He reigned over all Isreal for thirty-three years. He then conquered the Jebusites and named the City of David in his honor. The Lord Almighty was with him. You could become more obediant. The Lord states,"Obedience is greater than sacrifice." God loves an obediant and faithful heart.

week 1 Tuesday

   Saul  was afraid of the Philistine army, which included David. Saul asked God what to do, but he did not answer him. Saul asked for a medium woman  and was told of a medium in Endor. He disguised himself in different clothes. The medium refused to tell him anything. The woman then saw a spirit coming out of the ground. It was Samuel. Saul asked Samuel what he should do, and Samuel told him that he had made an enemy of God. Saul was disapointed and did not want to eat. Magic, hypnosis, and fortune telling can all be considered occult practices.God would definatly be very upset.
